Explaining How Things Work

Museums don't just collect things. They also obtain, preserve, and study how things work and how they are or have been used. Museums bring this knowledge to life through interactive exhibits and demonstrations that can offer students unusual writing opportunities. In this activity students watch a demonstration of how something works or how to do something. They observe carefully, take notes and make sketches, select relevant details, and sequence actions before they begin to write.
