A Family Visit to the Smithsonian The activities suggested here were created by an actual family who visited the Smithsonian. They spent a week closely looking, sharing ideas, and just getting familiar with museums and exhibits. Their ideas prepare children for learning on a school field trip and for a lifetime of visiting and enjoying museums. Their journal activity is especially valuable in promoting reflection and recording, and making the museum visit personally meaningful.
