May  15 Gallery Talk: Electronic Superhighway: Continental U.S., Alaska, Hawaii Thursday,  May  15 , and 29, 4 pm Smithsonian American Art Museum Docent coordinator Carol Wilson discusses the huge video map of the United States by Nam June Paik who was the first to use the phrase “electronic superhighway.” Paik’s installation reminds us that each state has a distinct identity and culture, even in today’s information age.
