The lessons in this issue introduce students to the ecosystems of coral reefs of the Caribbean and the rocky coastline of Maine in order to show how these ecosystems are each unique, but also related. Emphasis is placed on the formation of these environments and the organisms that call each marine environment home.
The lessons created to help students understand that the world is one large ecosystem, where our actions affect all species, including our own. Students to consider the role of temperature, sunlight, waves, tides, and food chains in the creation of unique marine environments.
