This magazine-format issue of Art to Zoo leads off with the article “Stories from the Deep,” a teacher’s account of the ways she integrated writing and art exercises into a lesson on mollusks. She provides “mollusk facts” as background.
Also included are an introduction to the Smithsonian Institution, a guide to gathering historical information from gravestones, and a story for students about two owls who once lived in the tower of the Smithsonian Castle.
Note: This is an archival publication dating back to 1977 and any supplements or suggestions for off-site education may not be available.
