Getting Started

This issue invites educators and their students to “visit” India, learning about its culture and the lives of Indian children. Information given touches on subjects such as geography and Indian folk tales.

The lesson plan asks students to do research and report on the lives of Indian children in the form of a mock interview between a journalist and an Indian child. Supplementary pages provide information on Indian celebrations, music, and food accompanied by recipes for spice tea and cookies.

Note: This is an archival publication dating back to 1986 and any supplements or suggestions for off-site education may not be available.
