Playing Historical Detective: Great Grandmother’s Dress and Other Clues to the Life and Times of Ann
Getting Started

In the history lesson that makes up this issue, students become detectives, reading and analyzing primary source documents and artifacts as clues to the life of a nineteenth century woman, Annie Steel. Primary sources include marriage certificate and death announcement as well as letters. The students then use various materials to create a series of collages.
