This magazine-format issue of Art to Zoo leads off with the article “Small Worlds: Stamps as Storytellers,” which culminates in a lesson plan for using stamps to teach the subject of westward movement.
Also included is an article on the then-new Insect Zoo at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of Natural History, tips for introducing insects into the classroom, and a piece on the Smithsonian’s work to preserve an endangered South American monkey, the golden lion tamarin.
Note: This is an archival publication dating back to 1977 and any supplements or suggestions for off-site education may not be available.
