This bag was made by people whom archaeologists call "Basketmakers" because of the large quantities of baskets and other woven items discovered in the sites where they lived. The Basketmakers lived more than 1,500 years ago in Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, and Utah. Their textiles have been preserved because of the dry conditions of the rock shelters, caves, and other places where they made their homes.
