The reverse side of this pictorial weaving is shown in this studio photograph, taken in Washington, D.C. in 1874. The woman seated to the left was most likely its maker. She is Juanita, a Navajo woman married to a famous Navajo leader named Manuelito. The man to Juanita's right is W.F.M. Arny, the U.S. government agent among the Navajos at the time.
